Antique Dining Room Chairs
How to recover dining room chairs
The fabric can easily be changed on most dining room chairs by simply removing four screws from underneath each chair, and applying new fabric of your choice. Once removed lay the seat bottom on your fabric making sure if working with lines or a patterns that your fabric is straight in relation to the seat bottom, then cut your fabric leaving two or three inches on all sides around the seat bottom. You will need a fabric staple gun, and staples to apply your new fabric. To do so, pull the point of each corner in at a forty five degree angle and fold the remaining two sides over it pulling the fabric tight then staple. Always check and make sure your pattern is straight if working with decorative fabrics. After stapling the first corner staple the opposite corner until all four corners are stapled. Next staple the sides pulling the fabric snug as you staple, using the same process as the corners, staple opposite sides until finished. Along the way check the pattern to assure it is straight as you apply. A really simple way to update the color or pattern to match your decor.
